The work
Hi, I’m Jared. Currently, I design AI-powered features at Intuit on the Virtual Expert Platform (VEP), an innovative system that connects customers with experts by enhancing workflows, tools, and capabilities. I’m passionate about solving complex problems and leveraging AI as a collaborative co-pilot to craft effective, user-centered solutions.
Before Intuit, I led experience design initiatives for several online universities, focusing on top-of-funnel marketing and website optimization that successfully converted prospective students into enrolled learners. Earlier in my career, I gained valuable experience at design agencies, tackling complex projects ranging from e-commerce shopping carts to specialized B2B platforms. My approach consistently centers on applying UX principles to create seamless, intuitive experiences that meet both business goals and user needs.
For my next role, I’d like to step up to the next level of design craftsmanship. I am already operating at this level in my current position, where I collaborate vertically with internal stakeholders to contribute to the platform and horizontally across various business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effectiveness. I thrive on complexity, making the CRM and workflows space particularly ideal for me.
A little sizzle …
This sizzle reel captures just how much we’ve accomplished lately, and I’m proud to have played a big part in it. From vision to execution, I’ve had my hands in some exciting work lately. It’s been a wild, rewarding ride, and this is just a glimpse of what we’ve built.
Outside of work
When I’m not deep in the UX trenches, I’m a proud dad of three energetic boys and a dedicated Duck fan (Go Oregon!). I keep my design skills sharp and community connections strong by actively joining local UX Meetups like SDXD and UX Speakeasy. Learning never stops—I recently leveled up my storytelling game with a new class.
Back in the day, I was a freelance photographer for the Union-Tribune, sharpening my eye for detail and creative storytelling. Tech runs through my veins thanks to my AA in telecommunications. I build computers, troubleshoot IT puzzles, and geek out over hardware.
On the creative side, I drum in a jam band with some old colleagues, which keeps my rhythm (and sanity) alive. And, for a bit of intergalactic fun, I’m part of the 501st Legion, the infamous “bad guys who do good” from Star Wars cosplay. These passions keep my life vibrant and remind me that creativity and community come in all shapes … and galaxies.
